VBH System Development Life Cycle
Business Analysis & Requirements
During this phase, the project team focuses on WHAT is needed by the customer as well as understanding what the customer must provide so that design and development can take place. Without adequate time and analysis spent at the Business Analysis & Requirements phase, the entire rest of the project suffers.
Deliverables of the Business Analysis and Requirements phase:
Analyze and document current business processes (As-Is process) |
Document business rules, inputs & outputs, process constraints and general requirements of the new system. |
Pinpoint key strengths and weaknesses within the customer’s business processes. |
Gap analysis (between the as-is and the future processes) |
The final requirements document may contain: |
Process maps for the To-Be process
Business rules & constraints for the business processes
General requirements gap analysis
Analysis of current hardware and networks
Requirements for Data, Application Integration points
Migration requirements.
Process changes that the client will need to make
The client’s training needs
High level plans for knowledge transfer and change management are also created during this phase. |
Once the types of gaps are identified, detailed project plan and requirements are developed.
