The workshops are:
Leadership
Change Management
Emotional Intelligence
Team Building
Strategic Alignment

Leadership
Master skills to get the best from your most valuable project management resource – the people you lead.   True leadership on the part of the project manager is one of the most important characteristics in successfully executing projects.  We will discuss how to build on your project management expertise to enhance your success as a leader. This 3-hour work shop explores the unique skills necessary for leading people in a project environment.

What you'll learn:

Why both management and leadership matter to you

Your personal leadership style and when to adopt a new style

What you can do to improve your leadership capabilities

Change Management
Project managers are the original change agents!  Projects are usually a result of some change either in the business environment, technology or government.  In this 3-hour work shop we'll discuss business changes and their impact on projects and the project manager's role in managing changes.

What you'll learn:

The external and internal change factors that impact projects

Identifying change and knowing when to react to the change

         Planning for resistance to change

Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is a “Different Kind of Smart”.   As stated in the February 2006 PMI Network Magazine: “Project leaders with high emotional intelligence inspire their team, connect with their piers and get the job done.”  During this three-hour seminar we’ll discuss specific ways leaders can improve their performance through the emotional intelligence.

What you’ll learn:

What is emotional intelligence and why should technical project managers care about EI?

The link between emotional intelligence and crisis management

How do emotions pay a role in project and risk planning?

Team Building
What is the difference between a group and a team and why does that matter?   In this 3-hour work shop you will challenge your assumptions about the formation and operation of teams so that you can be more effective in your role as a project leader.

What you will learn:

         The characteristics of effective teams

How to create a culture that taps into the full potential of the team

What to do with teams that have become dysfunctional

Strategic Alignment
Today’s business climate is changing continuously.  Projects need to be able to meet the needs of the business and help them reach their goals by aligning with those goals with the business.  It is essential for project managers to think and act strategically.   In this 3-hour work shop we’ll discuss how projects can help a business achieve their strategic goals and the project manager’s role in managing a strategic project.

What you will learn:

         Corporate strategy and gap analysis

How to use that “nebulous” corporate strategy to define your project portfolio

The project manager’s role in executing strategic projects
