VBH System Development Life Cycle - DESIGN AND BUILD

Design

During this phase, the technical team takes center stage. They will be actively designing and developing the databases models, objects and prototypes as they were defined in the project requirements phase.

The design is approved by the customer, business analysts and the development team to ensure that each group understands the intentions of the other.

Test plans and quality audits begin to ensure that the requirements will be addressed in the design.

Build

It is important for the project manager to insure that the developers stick to the agreed-upon design to prevent any scope creep during this phase.

At the end of the build phase, you should have modules that have been unit and system tested.  Unit testing and integrated testing are the primary responsibility of the technical developers to ensure that they deliver a quality product to the quality team and customers for their testing.

During the build phase, the business team will be developing test scripts for the application. Doing test scripts will allow the testing to occur immediately upon completion of each build and provide an end product sooner.

While the technical team is building the software and application requirements, the business team needs to be working to ensure that the necessary business process improvements are completed
